The gallery of photographs has continued to grow, necessitating reorganization. Current photos, where "current" means "from the current year," are available from this page. I moved photos from previous years to per-year pages. Click the year in question to view those photos.
- Foot Surgery
- On Friday, November 14th at 7:30 a.m., I had a third surgical procedre on my left big toe. The first surgery removed some bone spurs from it. The second operation was implanting an artifical joint. This time, the surgeon removed the installed join and fused the entire toe using a plate, some screws, and some bone from a donor. The surgeon and his team were also kind enough to snap a few pictures at various stages during the procedure. I share them with you.
- Holy Cross Parish, San Jose
- Athough I'm attending RCIA at Our Lady of Peace, I've been visiting other parishes, hoping to find one that feels comfortable enough to make my church home. Here's where I went today (5 October, 2008).
- Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church
- I'm attending RCIA classes at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
- San Francisco
- Accumulated photographs of visits to San Francisco on 21 June, 2008 (with more to come).
- Overfelt Gardens Park
- Two garden visits today (June 7, 2008). The first was to San Jose's Overfelt Gardens Park, a Chinese garden. There are also memorials to three Chinese greats, Confucius, Sun Yat Sen, and Chiang Kai-Shek, and a Chinese cultural garden. I'm not sure what a cultural garden is, but the whole place was pretty and, as these photographs show, notably short on water.
- Municipal Rose Garden
- In addition to the Heritage Rose Garden I've photographed twice before, San Jose itself has its own Municipal Rose Garden. It was beautiful, which beauty I hope these photographs convey.
- Henry W. Coe State Park
- Last fall, I visited Henry W. Coe State Park, outside of Morgan Hill, which is just south of San Jose. Today, 3 May, I took Kelly up there so she could see and appreciate it. We both took lots of pictures. Here are mine.
- Japanese Friendship Garden
- Today's (19 April, 2008) adventure was visiting gardens. This first garden we toured was the Japanese Friendship Garden in Kelley Park, on Senter Road at Story Road.
- Heritage Rose Garden: April 2008
- The second garden we visited was the Heritage Rose Garden in the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens. The roses are simply stunning, and the place is far from being in full bloom. "I gotta get me one o' these!"
- Santa Cruz
- Kelly and spent a day (April 12th) on the beach, boardwalk, and wharf in Santa Cruz. These are the photos I took. It's been a long time since I got brown in April; I believe this is Kelly's first sunburn in April…
- Golden Gate Bridge
- April 5th, Kelly and drove up to the city and oohed and aahed at the Golden Gate Bridge. Of course, we took some pictures. Note for those readers not on the left coast and not in northern California: "the city" (rather, The City™) is San Francisco — natives point and laugh derisively or snort and sneer contemptuously at people who call it "'Frisco;" that's definitely the sign of an outsider trying (and failing) to be hip.
- Road Trip 2008
- To complete our move to San Jose from Pittsburgh, I flew back to Pittsburgh the night of March 21st. We left in a minivan the morning of March 24 and arrived in San Jose at 6:19 p.m. on March 28th. We took a lot of pictures, which you can see here.
- GardenWerks
- I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Pleasantly surprised, even. I had a blast. These photos chronicle GardenWerks.
- Miscellaneous
- Into this category fall photos that don't fit neatly (or at all) into any of the other categories.
